Boulder Police respond to robbery report, find no crime committed

What the Boulder Police were initially investigating as a potential robbery on Wednesday afternoon turned out to be nothing more than an altercation in which no crime was committed.

At 12:50 p.m. the police department tweeted that offercers were “investigating a robbery that just occurred at Premier Members Credit Union, located at 5495 Arapahoe Ave. Heavy police presence in the area, please avoid the area is possible.”

Andrea Balazs, a spokeswoman for Premier Members Credit Union, quickly responded to that statement saying the incident occurred just outside the bank at Los Dos Bros Food Truck.

Finally, at 4:15 p.m. the police released a statement indicating they had received a tip earlier in the day reporting an altercation between two men outside the credit union that a witness thought was a robbery.

After the they tracked down both men in question, they determined no crime had actually taken place and that the credit union was not involved in any way.
