Boulder to move 16 trees from Foothills Parkway this week

Boulder this week is moving 16 trees before construction begins on the Foothills Parkway Bicycle and Underpass Project, which will replace the bridge and add an underpass by fall 2020.

Workers will move the trees from the Foothills Parkway median south of Colorado Avenue and near Park East Park to several locations: six to Flatirons Golf Course and 10 to the Arapahoe Avenue Underpass at the east end of the Civic Area. They will move another tree to a new location within Park East Park.

Tree moving starts Tuesday and concludes Thursday, and it will affect traffic in both directions on Foothills Parkway adjacent to the park between 7 a.m. and 7p.m. Traffic will be shifted to the outside shoulder and have a 30 mph speed limit.
